Why People Fail to Succeed in Online Business

The main reason people fail at online business is said to be because they quit too soon, without giving it a fair chance. The underlying reasons for this are that they (a) Believe there is some sort of magic about the Internet that will allow them to succeed by osmosis; (b) Want something for nothing, meaning they are not willing to really work at it. (c) Do not actually have a realistic plan of action that includes investing their time and effort; (d) Do not treat it seriously as they would a job.

Let’s examine each of these things in a little more depth.

(a) Belief in magic. It is true that some terminology may lead someone to feel that things will be a lot easier and faster than they really are. This is where normal people should employ whatever common sense and logic they may have. Understand that the statements are addressed to the public at large. There is a broad spectrum ranging from those with skills, resources and previous experience, all the way to people brand new to the Internet, computers and/or sales and marketing.

Many statements are telling us that it is POSSIBLE – and it is POSSIBLE for the first group who have experience. Does this say it is IMPOSSIBLE without it? No, not at all, but being realistic, they will need to accept that fact that they have to learn and get some experience in order for the eventuality of success to happen for them. If they are willing and able to accept this then they have a chance to succeed with an online business.

(b) Something for nothing. People may feel that they are doing all they need to do by joining an affiliate program and paying the monthly dues. However if nothing else is done to promote the business after that then it is the same as doing nothing. Having a link with an ID does absolutely nothing without promoting it aggressively by marketing and advertising.
Yet some people feel entitled to everyone else doing everything for them and they just sit back and wait for the money to roll in. They have a very long wait because without their active participation nothing will ever happen. They are very willing to accept anything that is free which is meant to help them get started. If they don’t see anything tangible at the end of the trial period they are out of there, often with very unkind things to say about the program when it did not produce magical results for them instantly.

The correct attitude for someone who is sincerely trying to start a business would be gratitude for the opportunity, and a real effort to make proper use of the resources that were shared with them in good faith. They need to understand reality and the fact that nobody achieves wealth without work other than lottery winners and heirs to fortunes. If it seems so effortless for the ‘guru’s with their sensational stories, you are not reading the part where they struggled uphill for years to achieve what they have now.

It is true some don’t elaborate on that so you have to be realistic in your own thinking to be sure you are not mislead. An important thing to realize is they were for the most part not born with ‘a silver spoon in their mouth’ – had no special privileges or superior intelligence – and they don’t owe you anything even if they did – other than to honor their promises and guarantees.

(c) A realistic plan. This would include having a definite business plan just in so far as what exactly you need to learn to do. You need to define in detail the whats, whens, hows and whys. What exact steps you need to take to do all the necessary things in conducting a professional business. Do you have what you need to do that? If not take steps to find out how to get it.

(d) Do not treat it seriously. You must be disciplined and focused if you want to achieve anything with your online business. You have to stay motivated even though you may not see any results at first. Just because you can work on your own time schedule does not mean skip it or put it off until ‘tomorrow’. You need to include a work schedule in your plan and be committed to it. Then work it out.

While Making Money Can Be a Hobby, It Isn’t a Game

If you work at a demanding full-time job and have a gnarly commute to boot, you probably are not real enthused about spending more time working to start a home business so you can be making money on the side. However this is the very thing you should be doing. It may help to look at it as a hobby – one that you are interested in and find to be a fun project that you look forward to.

@ super business man

The motivation doesn’t even have to be making money – you can imagine not having that grizzly commute and just working from home someday, kicked back with your feet up, enjoying the journey as much as the thought of the eventual destination. The point is this could be critical someday, so find a reason to love it and pour whatever is left of yourself by the time you get home into it.

We can never know what is around the corner. Whether it is going to be something that helps or something that hinders. Therefore we need to be prepared, and making the most money now, while you still can, is a wise decision. There is a whole laundry list of possible disasters of varying magnitudes that could befall you and your family. If you had some money saved and/or an alternate way to support yourself well-established, landing on your feet would be a lot more sure.

So many things that we may have grown up being accustomed to are either gone or in a precarious state. You just never know what will happen to the company you are depending on to pay you a pension. Their investments can tank just like your own. There is no longer the concept of ‘too big to fall’. We have seen the biggest corporations fall to their knees and it can happen to individuals as well, as a result.

We saw what happened to millions of people in the last ‘recession’ where people lost their money on the stock market and even lost their homes that they worked all their lives to buy. We saw people who were reaching retirement age realize they had insufficient retirement funds and instead of planning a trip to Cabo they find themselves looking for part-time jobs for senior citizens. It’s just tragic. It’s heartbreaking to imagine looking forward all your life every day to something that is only a mirage, built with ‘funny money’.

What is the risk for you to invest your spare time in starting a home business to start making money so that you can feel a little more secure? For one thing, if nothing catastrophic happens where you need the money, you may be pleasantly surprised when you see you actually have enough money saved to buy something you really want but felt you couldn’t afford, like a new car or to take a vacation now while you still can.

The bottom line is it isn’t a game – if you are going to start a home business you need to take it seriously. Your home is a ‘kicked back’ environment, and lots more relaxed than the hostile corporate or retail work environment; however this could mean that you have to even more so be really determined and focused – absolutely committed, so that you will stay motivated to take care of business.

Why More People Don’t Succeed at Internet Marketing

There is a really good saying to always keep in mind: ‘You can’t fail unless you quit’. One other that goes with that is ‘The road to success is littered with failures’. ‘They’ also say that the reason only 5% succeed is for no other reason than 95% quit Internet marketing too soon.

internet marketing

They quit without even trying, or they quit too soon when they don’t see instant results. It does cost a little money to operate a business, so that is one reason people are in such a big rush… Some expect to get the money by osmosis without doing anything to promote it.

Hello what planet are you from? This one it is pretty much the case that you need to work to earn ‘a living’. Other than inheriting money or winning the lottery, there is no such thing as instant wealth or wealth without work. Yes! Even in Cyberspace! Somebody has to do the work someplace so that all the gears turn and we can ‘enjoy life’ on the Internet.

Anybody who is seriously imagining the idea of earning an income from their Internet marketing home business must realize the ‘survivalist’ mindset. They absolutely should never allow themselves to even entertain a futilistic attitude about the state of their Internet marketing projects; (to build an income online independently from home). It takes TIME like everything else in reality!

Remember always that no matter how many times we try and fail, not to ever give up. Let all failures only be lessons and if we are paying attention we can really do this with very little money and in our spare time. That is the recommended way to start a business, so that you have an income to survive on while you are building and developing your company. It’s an excuse for a mini-celebration just to imagine the day you will fire your boss, or quit your day job! Start practicing now.

If someone is telling you they were able to achieve or accomplish some level of income, etc, that may be an indication that it is indeed possible for you to do that as well. They can’t promise that your trip will be the same as theirs, and there is no rule to say how long it will take you to do the same thing they did, or how much money it is POSSIBLE for you to make in order to succeed in Internet marketing today. Nobody is responsible except you, for how well you TRY and how far you succeed!

It’s all about the level of commitment, engagement, determination and mindset that drives us and dictates our level of effort to succeed with our Internet marketing business. With all that said, you need to give it time. Time for the learning curve, time to implement the start-up, time for ongoing analysis and maintenance; and then of course there are times of acceleration for purposes of expansion. Only then you have earned the right to declare you are running your business on ‘autopilot’ and you can step off and have some fun with all your money!

Hello world!

Hi, it’s Bengt and this is my website. Stay tuned, I’ll have great things to share!

For starters, here’s an article I think you’ll enjoy…

It’s called: “Make the Leap to Home Business Success

If you are going to build a successful home business, you need 3 “intangibles.” These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

===> Intangible 1 <===

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make a home business work? What’s driving you? What is it that you CAN’T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn’t stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone’s time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children’s lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

===> Intangible 2 <===

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don’t believe that it’s POSSIBLE for you to succeed in a home business or make your living on the Internet, you won’t. It’s that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money with a home business online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money online in many different ways. Just get online and do some research and you’ll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you’ll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it’s getting easier and easier to start and succeed in a home based business. This is primarily because of the Internet and affiliate marketing.

I’ve always said that “affiliate marketing” is the job of the future. In the “old” days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. Believe me, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the “job” of the future that’s here TODAY.

===> Intangible 3 <===

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim… This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with an Internet home business.

That’s backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is the Internet is a moving target… The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can’t learn from the outside… You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. This is what I call “Making the Leap.”

The good news is that the cost of failure on the Internet is very small. In the “brick and mortar” world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It’s almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100. In fact, Digital Altitude is a really good example of this.

You simply need get IN THE GAME… Each moment that you stay “out there,” you’re wasting valuable time that you could be learning and skills necessary to become a successful affiliate marketer. In fact, if you’re not in the game yet, you’re ALREADY behind the times. Come on, You can do it! Make the leap to becoming a successful home based business owner today!
