Don’t Rush Your Internet Marketing Business

It’s pretty important to follow the directions with most things. One example is if you were baking a cake and the recipe called for “bake at 350 for 1 hour”. It would be a real mess if you decided 30 minutes was long enough. Nothing like what you would expect the cake to look like. It would likely be gooey and flat or at least lopsided.

watch it!
The same principle should be applied to starting a home business online. No matter which strategies you employ it’s going to take time. This is the case even if you have ‘autopilot’ or automation. Whether or not you use paid advertising, it will take some time.

If you have foolishly gambled with your rent money or otherwise over-extended yourself financially, it is understandable you would now be in a rush to recover. If you are paying membership fees and have other monthly costs then you are anxious to see a return on your investment. This is one element that causes people to rush. Understandable but still not right.

It is still going to take as much time as it takes to start seeing tangible results. Nobody can say when it will start to produce income. Of course income is very much dependent on how much time and effort you are willing to invest regardless of spending money to promote your business or not.

Other factors that we do not control are also relevant, such as the economy, world affairs and even the weather. The employment picture is also relevant and this one can manifest itself either way; when people fear that they may be losing their job or have already lost one, some will feel compelled to save every last dime; others will start to build something on their own using whatever money they have.

Another factor is what people will do when they see your ads or emails. Most will do nothing except read. So you need more time to reach those that are interested enough to take action when they see your opportunity. There are many existing online businesses looking to expand their earnings potential with new programs.

There are always many new start-ups and people exploring the possibilities to make money online. So you are not alone. The point is that only a small percentage of the world population is serious about starting a business on the Internet. It is like finding the ‘needle in the haystack’ to find interested people. So remember this if you feel discouraged if you send 100s of emails and leads and other ads with no response. This does not mean stop. It means keep trying.

The other really disastrous bad idea for a business start-up is to sit back and wait for the response you are expecting. Never just put out a bunch of ads and then kick back and wait for the money. You need to keep trying aggressively all the time. This is how you build and sustain momentum. Do not become complacent or ever feel you have done enough to promote your business and deserve a rest. You will never have done enough unless you are raking in millions.

There are Endless Possibilities for Starting a Home Business Online

Going to work at a day job and dealing with the rat race was never easy. Severing ties with the boss and favorite co-workers is not exactly fun when you finally take action to leave. Probably when someone makes a decision to change their life, foremost are the financial decisions.

more money

We need to know which is the better deal, considering all things. There is the actual take home income, the benefits such as health insurance and retirement plan, commute time, etc. We really have to weigh our decision to stay or go carefully as there is so much at stake. You can hardly ever change your mind and go back. It may be best to analyze the situation and don’t say anything until after you have determined which is best for you.

If you are thinking about starting up a home business to replace your job, well, it’s not always easy to begin with. Starting a real Home Business online takes determination, self-discipline, and a desire to succeed. If we do not have any income to tide us over until we get the new business going, we are really in a precarious situation. The ideal situation is to start developing your home business in your spare time and have at least a foundation when you quit your job.

One of the most important things would be to determine what type of work is most suitable to your current skills and interests. There are many different businesses that you can start. Blogging (writing) is a skill and affiliate marketing is an industry that is a very popular way to earn income online from home for two examples.

Most people already blog and have a good idea about the basics. All they need to do is find a niche and concentrate on it while blogging. Very helpful if it is tied in some way to whatever business you want to have. Once you have chosen your niche, then you just need to set up a blog and ideally also a website that is closely related.

If for example you are a person that is interested in fashion, you could set up a fashion blog, create interesting posts and then place affiliate links to certain retailers and particular products on your blog to ‘monetize’ it. It is very wise to choose a niche where there is interest for you as well as the public (prospects). The niche should be popular so people will look for it rather than you chasing them down to convince them they want or need it. Blogging and linking to products that are seldom used can lead to a low success rate.

Whatever you decide on, starting a real (profitable) Home Business is an endeavor with endless possibilities and limitless opportunities. You probably want to take it slowly and sensibly and build up slowly so as to avoid as much risk as possible.

Building a Home Business – Learn How to Do Things Yourself

It may seem convenient to have someone else do things that you are not sure how to do. However it is much better to learn how to do things for yourself. We are not talking about building a space ship (“rocket science”). We are merely talking about very basic technical things for your website or your membership program.

U R in control
Even if you could afford to hire technical support to do them for you, you will not be as well off as if you learned how to do it yourself. Somewhere in your program, in your hosting account, or in a search engine, you will find directions on how to do just about anything you need to do.

If you get used to shuffling off anything you do not know how to do, then you will never learn how to run your business completely. If you pay someone else to do it you will never learn. If you have a high volume of work and little time, then it is understandable.

However, it would be wise to ask your support to write some simple instructions for you (and pay extra if necessary) when they do your work. This way you are not tied to paying for support and never quite knowing what is going on. To be real you should actually know how everything in your business is done, whether or not you have support. You should have written procedures that anyone can follow, ‘just in case’.

Particularly if you have not been happy in your career, you will have a great time calling yourself ‘the boss’. Maybe you will also enjoy procrastinating as long as you can if you have nobody to push your work off on; but you can’t carry this too far. You being the boss are the one who is responsible for your business whether you have support or not.

You never can tell — you may come up with some new innovations on how to do things in a more efficient, more accurate way. You must learn how things are done presently or on average before you could see a different perspective where you may improve the procedure. Don’t forget to update your written procedures when you change anything throughout all stages of your home business’ development.

It Makes Sense to Use the Products You Sell Online

Aside from the fact that as a reseller (affiliate) you may be able to get a ‘discount’ or wholesale rate, why would you support your competition? For the most part you should think in terms that indicate you believe your product to be superior and that is why you chose to use it. That you may make a few extra dollars that way is all good.

In addition to possible extra revenue and savings in your business operating budget, using the product yourself will give you the ability to really describe the functionality in your ads. It is so much more convincing to read something written by someone who has actually used the product than just a bland review that may say if you liked it.

You wonder if they even know what the product does or if they were in some way paid to give a favorable rating especially in a ‘check box’ format where you are not allowed comments to qualify your answers. So we are to take the word of someone we don’t know at all, believe they actually used the product and are being 100% honest in their review?

It is important to note here that it is not just reviewers that are not really honest about their experience with the product that are a concern. In addition there are so many haters that may get an evil thrill by saying something negative that may hurt the seller. This can be on purpose or just innocently out of ignorance.

In any case if you have had direct experience you will be able to describe many aspects of the product that otherwise would not be known. The more enthusiastic you can be in your advertising, the better! Always remember to quote any statistics you can find (with the reference source included) that offers proof that your product is superior. This can be a ‘study’ or the results of testing done by a reputable organization.

It also may be important to mention the sales transaction itself as this would be a definite source of satisfaction if it went seamlessly as it should. Stuff happens but you can even learn something when it doesn’t. You can earn your customer’s loyalty by the way you quickly resolve issues.

Home Biz Entrepreneur – Use Your Head

Mainly in that it is easier to learn with ‘hands on’ strategy for most people, you need to start thinking for yourself. Unless you are not given any instructions you shouldn’t automatically contact support to have them do things for you. What do you learn by having someone else do something? Nothing.

not always free
In most cases support won’t do something for you that they know there are instructions for and that you can do yourself. There is no excuse here like ‘I can’t’. There is no can’t. If you want something then you need to learn about it and be able to do it going forward.

If you have the money to pay for technical support that is up to you – however again, you won’t learn anything and you will always need help. That is not the real idea of having your own home business where you are the boss and know how your business actually works. If you can afford to pay for support maybe they will be kind enough to give you the instructions so you can try it on your own.

With affiliate programs for example the support and everything you need to start is free. Some would realize this is really fortunate and that the opportunity deserves your undivided attention. Many others will adopt an ‘entitlement’ mindset and expect more and more free services.

How much would you/could you do free? Not much because time is money and if you are spending all your time giving free support you likely will not have sufficient time for your own critical money-making options. So be logical – do not expect people to run your business for you.

The entitlement people do not think in terms of imposing on anyone since the only importance to them is getting what they feel is their due. It must be sad and lonely in that state of mind where nobody else really counts and we can’t lift a finger even to help ourselves.

Don’t even get started on ‘freebie seekers’ – they are cousins of the entitlement clan. They can only participate if something is free. No matter how much they have received free, the minute they see even an optional charge they are done. They never imagine how a program that gives so much away for free to help people get started, may need support themselves.

As such they may need to create a fee structure where there is some chance (usually optional) to receive help to run the company by selling services, etc. Be realistic. There is no sin here. Where do you suppose they get the money to run their program? The tooth fairy?

Working at Home – Escape from Your Computer

All dedicated computer users probably understand what it is like to be really engrossed in whatever computer activity we might be involved in and unable or unwilling to stop even momentarily. However it is important to understand how seriously unhealthy it is not to get up regularly to rest the pressure that is being put on your entire skeletal system.

You really need to get your circulation going by moving around. This can take the form of short walks around your house, or some type of stretching exercise. It doesn’t have to be longer than a few minutes every hour or two but should definitely not be ignored.

At the same time you should be aware that your eyes need to rest as well. There is one exercise that involves looking at something as far away as possible (out a window for example). Focus on that for a few minutes. Your eyes will not be stuck at whatever distance is between you and your computer monitor. You can also alternate this with just closing your eyes for a few minutes to rest them.

None of these suggestions are remotely close to ‘slacking’ – they are necessary to maintain your good health. Look at it like if you were in too much back pain to work. Your neck is stiff, your lower back is painful, and you are not able to stand it after a while and must take time off to recuperate. This represents lost productivity and consequently income in addition to ruining your health.

If you do abuse your spine, one thing that is very effective and much healthier than pain pills or even OTC pain remedies is to get an ice pack – Ideally one of those that usually has a blue gel and is reusable indefinitely. It lives in your freezer and you take it out and use it for not more than 20-minutes on the same spot off and on.

Three more tips you should be aware of to alleviate some of the strain on your lower back that comes from too much sitting, etc., are as follows:

#1 Employ some sort of a footstool (a phone book works). You will feel right away how you are more comfortable not straining;

#2 Be sure that your computer keyboard and mouse are exactly in a straight line with your hands. This means no reaching up or down and straining your wrist and neck;

#3 Your monitor should be exactly at eye level – again this is no straining to look up or down. It should naturally be straight ahead.

Start an Online Business – Promise Yourself You Will Succeed

Whenever there is an opportunity to really excel and transcend whatever plain of existence you find yourself living on, why not go for it? It may be a very true statement that being ‘half-baked’ about anything has a half-way chance of winning or failing. Not great odds but still better than no chance at all.

always excel
If you have a computer at home and a decent Internet connection, you have a good chance for success. Of course the computer and/or the Internet will not do the work you need to do to accomplish anything; so let’s add real motivation and a dedication to making an effort to succeed. We are just ‘over the top’ on the success side!

Enough emphasis however can’t be given to the necessary time and effort that must also be invested in order to develop a business online. Time referenced here, refers to research and the learning curve, and taking action to implement what you have learned. The biggest time factor though that people seem to miss the point on is allowing time to produce the results.

Their main focus seems to be that there were no commissions in the first month (common) and they have created an artifcial deadline – didn’t see anything in 30-days and now there may be another monthly fee so just abandon it – so wrong.

It is not instant or magical that you put up a link on the Internet and send out a couple ads once or twice. There must be millions of those half-baked businesses online; it’s sad.. Success and accomplishing your goals are about the actions you take consistently over TIME. You must always be building momentum by continuing to advertise and market your business whether sales are soaring or sinking!

If there is any money to be spent you can find ways to save your time and effort by purchasing various services. If not, then you will need to do things for yourself. Either way if you do, it will lead to success. Could be sooner or could be later. It can still happen if you have an organized plan and stick to it – or change it if it doesn’t appear to be producing any results. (give it plenty of time before you decide).

Be sure to tell yourself each and every day when you sit down at your computer that you are there to succeed. There isn’t going to be any excuses why you don’t because you will just keep trying!

The Only Thing Constant is Change

Circumstances change daily. If nothing else in your sphere you know at least the moon changes phases regularly. The sun goes up and down, and the planets move around. So even if nothing in our immediate lives seem to change, the universe always does.

create changes

There must be some reason(s) for this and I am sure someone with a scientific bent might understand why, what, how. Not really important though to us as long as things go as they should and there are no unexpected natural disasters for any reason that causes a problem for us.

With that said, you do have most likely several aspects to your life that may be vulnerable to change whether good or bad. Our family situation, our day job, our interests and hobbies, our health, etc. may change at any time. Hopefully it will change for the better only!

It is actually a good idea however to make changes on your own if for no other reason than to stimulate your learning and experience. For example if you have chosen to create an extra element in your life like starting an online home business, on one hand you will want to stick with things long enough to see how they unfold – what you can accomplish, etc.

However on the other hand because things do change, and some are not that obvious as the moon, you want to stay in touch with what is happening and always be pursuing change – even in the sense of keeping what is working and adding what else may work a little, as well or even better. That way we don’t miss any opportunities that may otherwise present themselves.

It’s pretty much always about keeping an open mind whenever we are talking progress or even logic. As long as we are open to possibilities, we may be able to grasp things as they come our way and take advantage of them. Conversely if we are ‘asleep at the wheel’ some very good opportunities may pass us right by.

As long as you have taken care of the business you already have and know everything is functioning, take a little time to go and see what is happening that may be new. Don’t make it your main focus, but just give it a little time to browse around and see what may be an option. Then do a little research. Check out the buzz but just don’t get hung up there.

Business Builders May Become Empire Builders

You know everybody had to start somewhere. Very few people were awarded ‘the silver spoon in their mouth’ when they were born. It seems like even if you are given a huge amount of money that it is no guarantee that the person will be a success or more importantly happy in his life even with a big leg up.
build a biz

Then there are those true guys that built empires on their own and could have started with anything as an initial business. After they got the first one going and figured it out and achieved a little success, they went on to add more things that might generate income. At the ‘end of the day’ they have a business empire.

Not saying everybody is capable of starting General Motors or anything, but on a smaller scale we are all quite capable of doing just about anything we put our mind to with a little luck (and common sense). It doesn’t have to be ‘rocket science’ or anything spectacular – money is money and doesn’t matter where it comes from as long as it is legal and ethical.

There are so many facets to business and to the Internet that there is just really an unlimited number of possibilities that could eventually become part of your empire. You just have to do a little research in your own head about what you are interested in. Then you might take that to next step and do a little simple analysis on what it would take to get involved online.

If the whole thing seems like it is a possibility then you might start planning how you would get it together. Keep it simple. Don’t get any grandiose ideas in the beginning that involve loans or anything that is not totally feasible. This is something that may come later and may require you to prove some things in order to qualify for funding. So don’t even think about it in the beginning.

You may not realize what you have at your disposal on the Internet. You have a vast sea of information that is free to everyone. You can derive as much benefit as you are willing.

There are just no limits and it sure would be stupid to waste it. There is no reason anymore just to accept being average if you don’t want to. You can become wealthy without investing a lot of money – but you have to invest your effort and time and be serious.

Focus on Your Target Goals

For many people they mistakenly think they don’t need actual ‘goals’ in their life. They figure they will just go with the flow and see where it takes them. This is a mistake because often you will just go along and never really get anywhere except your least denomination.

get a target and hit it

Somehow some people ‘grow up’ with no real idea of what they want to do or be. They never really find out and end up with the best ‘dead-end’ job they can find. Not to say really ‘dead end’, but just not necessarily as well as you could have done had you had goals to target.

You look at this type of job as an income, sometimes barely sufficient but good enough since there are no expectations. Sometimes this happens to people who do not have a lot of self-esteem and have more or less just been satisfied with whatever life puts in front of them. In a way that is not totally negative that they can just be happy to be!

At some point however you can change. You can start wondering what it would be like to have more money or more freedom. You can even do something about it if you really want to. It could start with a free online course to teach you something you could do to earn extra money.

Or you could just discover some affiliate program(s) that are very inexpensive to join and will teach you some basic things to start an online business. So now you may have what is considered a ‘goal’. In fact the goal even has a target to focus on.

Maybe you could set a target goal to make $25 a week in referral commissions as your initial goal, with or without a timeline, and then as you meet your benchmark your target goal could be increased to $50 a week and you are on your way!
